For the record, I'd like to suggest custom sensors be allowed in the future.
With that said, I doubt they will be allowed, at least for a while. I understand the reasoning for not allowing this type of thing. And I really don't disagree with it. Limiting components to 'Lego Only' does help to keep the playing field even. And it makes some tasks more challenging. And that's the point, right?
On the other hand, it's amazing how one little sensor can totally change what is, and isn't possible.
