The reason I stopped was because no one was replying; I asumed people had

away. :(

Well, I'll write them regardless, I haven't bought a set in a while to keep
as a model, so I guess I just don't write them anymore.  That and the good
sets seem to disappear very quickly.

A BIG bonus!

I didn't mind them that much.  The 8250 Search Sub stickers weren't really
that cool, so I left them off, but most of the time with a Technic model
I'll put the stickers on as long as they don't cover more than one brick.

(I measured mine at around 400 mm, but I built the alternative model. I
don't know the size of the primary model, though.)

I just went and looked at it again, and using the handy dandy Piece of Paper
Measuring Tool (aka, 8.5x11") it was the length of the page and another half
or so, so it would put it a little under 18".   According to the website,
the overall length is 450mm.

two 5 long beams intersecting in a corner.  The corner is diagonally cut.

I love this piece!

I could see how it could be used for easily building crown gearboxes.  They
seem underused in the 8466.

Only two of the pins are used for power transmission.

How's that?

it's four wheel drive, and therefore comes with two differentials.  Unlike
the 8880, it doesn't have an extra differential between the two.  The

It most certainly does :) There are 3 diff's - one on the back axle set, one
for the front, and the requisite centre diff for splitting the power evenly
(or unevenly, as the case may be) between the front and rear differentials.

DOH.  That's what you get for writing Lego reviews at 3AM.  That was my
biggest beef about the 8448-only one differential (rearwheel drive).
