In the "Big Toy Book" from TRU they show the 4561 Train for $ 119.00, (until
Nov 23 I think) not great but better than it was.
Cheers

Play Well !

thanks for this...I am sure the "kids" of rtl will find that most usefull.
I doubt their parents will.... :)

Bite your tongue! Have you looked at the Shop @ Home catalog lately?

- 2 train car bottom sets (Not even the depressed center version, but
the shorter boxcar version) - $30
- Electric train motor - $25
- Speed regulator - $42
- Lighting brick - $5
- 2 boxes of curved track (16 pieces) - $26
- 1/4 box of straight track (2 pieces) - $3.25

Total: $131.25  ***U.S.***

That's about $210 Canadian with the current exchange rate and add to
that the GST and PST and it soaks you for $241.50 Canadian.

Buy it for $119 ($136.85 with taxes) at TRU and it saves you $105!

(Note that this doesn't even take into account the minifigs, cars,
truck, loading platform, train windows, etc.)

O.K., so you'll get a free tee shirt if you order it from the states
but is it worth paying the extra $105??

Unless the parents of the "kids" at RTL are either stupid or have
money to burn, I would think they would see the value in this.

Incidentally, although I realize you were being sarcastic, for the
record, the Railway Express is poorly designed for kids. The cars'
sides are only mounted on two studs per side and collapses easily in
a child's grip if held too tightly. Not so for the Metroliner. I
bought two of these when Sears had them on sale this spring for $90
and I've become quite adept at putting them back together every time
my toddler crushes one when he picks it up. The are actually rather
frustrating from a kids point of view, but too cheap as a source of
parts for a parent to pass up.
