I think the main goal is to make the competition challenging enough. I missed
out on rice grabbers, but that was pretty challenging. I think if we leave it
with moving 'dump trucks' a la open topped hoppers, that's not nearly as
challenging to get a block in as a vertical opening.
It took me a while to wrap my mind around it, but now that I have, I think this
one'll be challenging enough and we get moving robots on the playfield.
C$ was very challenging, but I find that stationary 'bots take away some of that
challenge--you can build as sprawling as you want 'cause the thing doesn't have
to move around. Now if you had to build a 'bot that had to find the C$ board
and then play against another,and after every turn the board woudl move so you'd
ahve to find it again, we would have seen a completely different game ;)
Building things in a compact fashion to allow for ease of 'bot movement--that's
something I haven't learned quite yet--look at all my moving 'bots--big and
bulky...
