(URL) Ringe came up with a solution a few years ago, which has been featured in at least half a dozen MichLUG/MichLTC shows so far (if you were at the big National Train Show in July you might have even seen them). His has the advantage of being a much simpler drive system than yours, but the gear system looks like it could be less troublesome in terms of following complex paths.
