Chris brought out a cool narrow gauge train he made with stuff from the
Western sets, and did a little logging camp on top of the mountain.

Sounds like a great idea - I look forward to seeing it.

Kevin showed up as well, surprising all of us, with a first-hand report
of the Seattle show...

I expect a full report, including photos Kevin.  It need not be printed,
but will reflect a substantial portion of your grade this year.  8-)

We left the track on the tables, and Michel was going to put the new
layout into the track planner before taking it down.
We made sure towards the end that there was enough flexibility to the
layout for you to squeeze some monorail in there.

Hope you left me room for a LONG bridge - I want to span from
one end of the layout to the other if Michel and I can work it out...

Oh, and last (but certainly not least!) the automated grain elevator
is AWESOME!  Especially since John put it together in about 2 weeks!

Sounds like we should have quite the impressive display at the show.
Oh!  I forgot to tell you guys - Larry's sending me one of his Milton
custom hopper cars.  He was good enough to take some time from
a brief layover between business trips to ship it to me, so that it
would be here in time for the show.  He's going to be in Australia till
the Olympics start, so if it had waited until he got back, I really doubt
we'd have it in time for the show.  I had intended to haul sulfur in it,
but I'll work for grain too.  :-)

(...) Heh... Well, we assembled the tables, laid all the track, and put the structures in place. Then we ran some trains, and took it all down. ... (what, you want more?) <duck> We used the plan we'd picked ahead of time, and it went together well (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.org.ca.nalug)
