Just so everyone knows, I'm currently working on an official LegOz
webpage[1] that will include information about upcoming events, as well as
background information on the group. What I would like to know is how people
feel about having their 'roll-calls' posted on this site so that anyone
visiting the site can find out more about us [2]. I'd also like to have
somone from Studs [and any other groups/regions that hold events] to assist
with images, pages, etc from their past events. [3]

I would ideally like to have a trading post section on the page so that
members can post what they are looking for to assist in our local trading,
but that's a little way off yet. Also, I'd like to put a page up for each
state outlining the best stores/chains to purchase lego at, as well as those
to avoid.[4]

[1] I'll [or someone else will] release details of the website when it's up
and running...I'm hoping to be ready with a main page and information about
LegOz 2000.4 sometime early next week.

[2] I aim to link these pages to individuals webpages, and if requested,
I'll leave blank the e-mail address for individuals. I'll also change the
section about where people are located to either country or capital city for
that state if requested. Similarly, I'll hide any information people would
like hidden on their roll-call [year of birth, etc] and I won't put any
roll-calls up without them having either e-mailed me or posted a message
here saying that it is OK to put them there and outlining what [if anything]
they would prefer to have hidden.

[3] I'll pass the URL and login info on to anyone who is willing to assist
in the creation/maintenance of this site, as we'll need more than one person
to work on it with the wide distribution of members and possible activities.
I've also had to create a hotmail account, which I thought would be useful
for correspondance with LA, and will pass the information about this on to
any regional organisers, wordsmith, etc so that they can e-mail out
information about events to members who may be able to attend [eg NSW/Studs
organiser emailing all Studs members about LegOz 2000.5]

[4] as we have 100Mb to use, we should potentially be able to put quite a
bit of information on the site...

If anyone has any complaints with anything I've been working on, don't
hesitate to let me know either via lugnet or e-mail. I'm just wanting our
group to have some form of structure before Santosh sends the letter to LA
so we stand a better chance of getting recognition, and the only way to be
sure of this happening is for someone to take the lead.

(...) I've no problem with my Roll Call info. We (Studs) already have a website up that's been put together by Richard Parsons. Is there a need to re-invent the wheel? (...) (...) I'd like to edit my roll-call a bit first, security and all that. Yeah I know it's accessible in its original form here and I did think about that issue when I posted it (that's why my number of sets says "lots" rather than a number) but I'd (...)
