Ben, yes the USA is the center of the known Universe. :-) If you want any bulk orders before it is available in Australia, I am sure that there are many AFOLs in North American and (Germanic) Europe that would be happy to order for you until (...) World For kids in Logan Hyperdome will be closed in Oct :( well there goes yet another store with a good selection of Lego (Indooroopilly lost their Toy's R Us around the first quarter of the year).
