Hello Jamie, Yes I'm selling these on Ebay, But I'm not making the mint I • think
you assume. Most of the people I sell to are collectors in the US who are
making up their colections of the various sets around the world. Being
collectors they want items in mint condition, even after mailing, so packaging
is important. Also when I purchased these sets they were $3.50 (before Big W
started selling them cheap) Now, I'm not saying that you can't get out there
and sell them, by all means do, but after paying Ebay fees and spending time • on
packaing, etc., I only end up making a couple of dollars. Sometimes they sell,
but sometimes they don't. At first I tried doing an Auction and started the
bidding at $2 and thats what they sold for. So now I put $6.50 on them and
only seriuous collectors bother. They will check out my feedback profile and
see I'm legitimate and buy. And what do I do with these profits (pay off my
home loan I hear you say) No, I buy more lego, not to sell but to add to my
collection.

I think someone out there is trying to make some quick $$$$. I'm not saying
it's wrong, but Why didn't i think of that springs to mind!!!

These are all those impulse sets currently going for $1.76 AUS

In the 'Olden days' i might have warned the buyer, but it looks slightly sus,
but he's propably OK.

I like to think I'm OK. I'm only a small time seller ( and buyer) on Ebay. Not
in the same league as Mark Harrison (How are you going Mark, pity the technic
deal fell through, looks like quite a list, if only I had a spare $1000 or 2)

Gary, any reason you list in AU$, because when you look on the listing page
of US ebay it makes no distinction between AU$ and US$. Of course when you
view the item page it shows it.
When are the Brisbane AFOL's going to have a get-together, we are about to
have a fourth meeting in Sydney.

(...) Hello Peter, I use Ebay Australia so all item are automatically listed in $AU. Doing it this way I am billed in $AU dollars and pay with AU plastic. It makes no real problem for US buyers as prices are automatically diplayed in US dollars in (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jul-00, to lugnet.org.au)
