(...) I second all of that. And I'd also recommend trying to get hold of a RIS 1.0 - especially if you're planning to do a lot of programming. For the cost of the expansion packs combined, you could probably pick up a 8480 Space Shuttle on e-bay, which has loads more useful stuff for robotics or just plain technics. Went to Target Hobart yesterday. Had some new Duplo, Life on Mars and Star Wars Technic sets in. Decided to buy the Star Wars Stormtrooper, priced at $47.95, went to the checkout and it scanned for $10.07, there fore quickly went back and bought (...) (24 years ago, 16-Feb-01, to lugnet.org.au)

Good news - it IS a 20% off all Lego sale! Confirmed in Tas, we've also got a confirmation from Melbourne (Ben W). It's a national* catalogue, also on the website.
