Right click on the 'My Computer' icon.
Click 'Properties'.
Click the 'Performance' tab.
Click 'Virtual Memory'.
Click the circle point 'Let me specify my own virtual memory settings'
For optimum performace you want to make the minimum and maximum the same number
which would be double your RAM but not more that 512 MB.
Click 'OK'
As long as you have a normal installation of Windows 98 this should be
permanent, untill you change it.
