To All,

I just heard a plane crashed into the World's Trade Center. However, none,
and I mean none, of the internet sites seem to be connecting! (Fox News,
CBS, ABC, CNN, etc.)

Does anyone know anything?

A very sad occurrence. It looks like the news sites are all buckling under
the load.

Here is what I know now (I am in Detroit in between flights... now not sure
if my next flight (to IND) is going to go, NYC flights are all cancelling),
based on TV reports:

- Shortly before 9 AM a small jet flew into the north tower. It appears that
it tried to veer away at the last sec, but was unable to. Rumor is this was
an AA regional that was hijacked. It appears to be completely embedded

- About 18 minutes later, while emergency crews were trying to deal with the
fire and explosion and evacuation, a larger aircraft (initially speculated
to be a 737) flew into the south tower. It is now believed that this was an
Airbus A320 (a 100+ passenger plus craft) which was also believed to be
hijacked.

Your best bet is TV, I can't get to the washpost site Dan mentioned.

Late breaking, I am stranded, i think, as the Detroit airport just closed.
But who cares about that. Please think kind thoughts for the victims of this
terrible series of events.

Well, Larry, it looks like every airport in the nation is now closed to commercial traffic. Sit tight. -Dave (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
