Now I'm pretty sure Eric/Erick is not a
Biblical name. Sure, there are some of the prophets that I will never stay
awake
to read through, but, I don't think it's in there.

Hmm. Well, in a way you're right.
But in another way, not exactly.

There's a quite common name in hebrew, Aryeh (= lion). A nickname for people
named like that is often Arick.
Pretty close to Eric/k... Long shot, I know, but maybe.

(FWIW... the Sesame Street Ernie is called Arick in Hebrew! And Bert = Bentz.
Hehe! I always marvelled at that...)

Well, it probably only demonstrates that mall stalls are not the authorities.

Pro-bab-ly. ;-)

The name DB lists a lot of meanings for Eri[ck], but not Hebrew rooted. Mostly
Old-German and other European countries.
(I'd give you the link, but it's on my other computer, and I'm just too lazy
to do anything about it. :-)

(...) In his autobiography, Ariel Sharon says that was the nickname he had when he was little. I thought that was kind of neat, but just a coincidence. Did you know Effie is a diminutive for Euphigenia? Two yucky names! (24 years ago, 12-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) When I see those wooden calligraphy name plate doodads for sale with all the Biblical names like "Sara" and "Marian" and "David" and "Chris" and "Matt" and what they mean, I can't resist and I look... Sure enough! They have Erik! Plus meaning, (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jul-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
