After a long and tiring day at work, I come home and wonder what tomorrow
will be like since it's my birthday and I have to work. (**** imagine that!)
Oh well, boss is in South Dakota killing anything that moves (hunting) so I
have to work. It could be worse, I could wake up not breathing or able to be
vertical. So I set myself to go through the routine of making sure
everything will be in order for tomorrow. Feed the fish, make dinner, eat,
burp, (that was pretty good!) save the leftover's for tomorrow, (nice dinner
for a birthday!) :-( (Hey Scott, think of the buffalo steaks you'll get for
this) :-) OK, I'm happy now (for now). Check my email and read Lugnet, nice
stuff out there! Do a backup so I can install the DVD I got myself. Happy
birthday! Oh gees, I have to make chili for Thanksgiving, (I'm in New
Mexico, we eat chili for breakfast)OK, DVD can wait. (Not really, it has to)
Again, Oh damn, I forgot to check the mail. OK, just go down to the box and
see who wants money from you now. What's the key for the big boxes doing in
my box? Hmmmm, I usually don't tell anyone when my birthday is cause I don't
want to be reminded I'm over 30, and shouldn't be "playing" with toys,
(you're just jealous) and I hate to get those boring presents. Dad
(regretfully) is only concerned with himself, and Mom is always practical.
Hmmm ,what could this be? Just get it over with and be happy you got
something. So I open the box and I see a big box with "Bande De Garantie"
writing on it. (AFOL's will know this) My heart stops! I know this! The only
place I've ever gotten this kind of taping is from DYA! (running back to the
apartment) I have to open this right away! I didn't order anything, what's
going on? I rip open the box (remember you're supposed to, it's your
birthday) and lo and behold, The 8880 Super Car! The set I've been coveting
for about a year and couldn't bring myself to pay e-bay prices for. The only
person who knew how much I wanted this is my Mom. Yes, happy birthday to me.
I love you Mom!
Lego is not a toy, it's a way of life. Build on!
