Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

(...) Is this a question you don't know the answer to, or a trivia question? I'll assume the latter. Is it procompsognathus? That's 16 letters, which qualifies as "long" in my book. Greg "He betrayed the irregular hunters and hid himself in a cave." (...) (25 years ago, 15-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

(...) since dino research is my middle name these days..., i believe jeff is refering to chuandongocoelurus (18 letters), one of the small mid-jurrasic coelurids found in sichuan, china. china is also the home of what i think is longest named dino, (...)   Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

(...) of course! the "tiny hadrosaur", only abot 8 ft long... supposedly. the identity on this one is rather doubtful, because so little of it was found. ok.   Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

(...) i overly geeked on this answer. just to set the record straight before one of you other dino geeks catch it, micropachycephalosaur means "tiny thick-headed lizard" (i've known a few, lol!). one of the tiniest known dinosaurs at about 20 inches (...)   Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

(...) That'd be the Emu! Oh, wait, you want classical dinos. The answer is "Minmi"! Here's an easy one: What dinosaur looks like Stegosaurus but has spikes instead of plates on its back? Jeff (25 years ago, 17-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

(...) Well, that clue wouldn't've helped me much, if I hadn't known the dino's name. Personally, I would've said that it sounds like an annoying singer's name from an early '80s animated TV series. :) Jeff P.S. For those wondering, the name is (...)   Re: Dino Names (was: Tricerablock's horns)

(...) Yup, but I screwed up. I swapped the names of two Dinos, that one and kentrosaurus. *sigh* Anyways, Kentrosaurus had plates at the front, but they changed to spikes as they progressed along its back. Three New Challenges!
