Yeah, I found DNEWS pretty quickly. Kinda pricey, though, at least
with respect to how I would want to be using it (allowing me and my
wife and maybe a couple others to read news on my Linux box).
What I would like to do, ideally, is have the server periodically (say
every 30 minutes) download new articles in the groups I'm subscribed
to, but also queue up posts and such by the local user.
I'm a little concerned about how Newsguy would perceive this, because
I would have to have the caching server login via my username and
password. I wouldn't want to be sharing my account with dozens of
people, and in a sense, I'm going to do this for myself even if I
don't give a couple of other users access to it, if for no other
reason than being able to make sure I get articles stored on my
machine before they scroll off their server. Issues, I know.
Know of anything besides DNEWS? :)
