Who?
I am not "gun crazy", whatever that means, but I own a handgun, am
trained in its effective use(1), am prepared to use it to take the life
of another should the situation require it, and am a full supporter of
the right to keep and bear arms, without limit. In case it's not clear,
my stance is the third one I enumeratd from a philosophical perspective
and the second one when asked to make a utilitarian argument.

Again, there is a lot of debate around whether this statistic actually
proves any causal link, as there is around whether statistics around
decreases in violent crime in states that allow concealed carry actually
prove any causal link.
Perhaps my summation wasn't really sinking in, since your post is
restating things that I am claiming have been stated and that aren't
going to change any opinions.
1- I have taken the required gun safety course for a concealed carry
under Florida law, practice regularly at a range, and practice unlocking
and loading my gun silently in total darkness on a regular basis.
