You probably weren't really expecting an itemized response, since it was mainly
a thought exercize, but here one is anyway.
> In Star Wars, is there a good side and a bad side?
Yes. Though I don't see the Empire as being all that different from most real
empires (such as the US).
> Is the simulated violence there as part of the story line?
Yup.
> Or is the violence there merely to entertain?
Nope. And the violence is pretty impersonal...at least for the twenty two
years prior to Darth Maul cutting Qui Gon in half.
> In cockfighting, is one side the good guys?
The side you've bet on? No.
> Or are both sides equally amoral?
_Im_moral.
> Also, is it moral to force animals to fight in the first place?
No.
> How is fighting different than eating animals, which lots of people do?
It is a few steps further down the road to unnecessary, but basically of the
same kind, if not degree.
> Is it OK to be avoidably cruel?
No. It is a sign of sociopathy.
> Is it OK to cause hurt to an animal if it's unavoidable?
No.

Our own or that of others? Is it right for sentient things to be property at
all?
> Do the ends justify the means?
No. I don't buy it. I know many of you do.
> How is cockfighting different than boxing? Contrast a rooster with a boxer.
Boxers, if I understand the sport, are there by choice. If that isn't so, then
it is equally disgusting. (Though, I assume boxers die in the ring less often
than do cocks.)

I'm not entirely sure. On which points do you disagree with me?
