Not to blast Shiri, but in an effort to be fair to those teachers, perhaps
the lesson was that the area was covered by seawater, but it was due to the
fact that the mountains weren't mountains yet.
If not, then I'd agree with Larry (!) that those teachers indeed lack clues.
