Look, I understand all of this... the point I was trying to make is that the
trigger lock thing only says that the gunseller must provide a triggerlock..
NOT that everybody has to walk around with their triggers locked! If you don't
want to use it, don't. I still don't see how it impinges on your rights at all
for the gov' to require that gun companies provide you with one when you buy
the gun.

Again, I agree, pretty much.
BTW, I know the NRA disputes this, But I've read the studies myself and concur
with the independent researchers who have shown the people are far more likely
to be shot with their own guns than shoot an intruder.
Please do not take that to mean that I support gun controls. I do not. I
agree with all opinions expressed, including "teach children about guns",
"citizens should be able to overthrow gov' run amok", "parents should control
their own children", etc. I agree. But nobody has yet provided any sensible
reason NOT to require triggerlocks be sold with guns. Nobody complains that
cars Must be equipped with seatbelts, or bicycles equipped with reflectors.

| Karim, (...) Well, one could argue that when you are in a situation where you would need your gun (A.k.a. late night break in) trying to find the key to a trigger lock could result in your death, or your property being stolen, etc. Secondly, why (...)
