What kind of evidence would suffice for you? Another story about high morale?
Anecdotal. A poll? Polls are worthless. I base my assertion upon interviews
I’ve heard from people who have been to Iraq and traveled around Iraq. Some
have written books. Who are these people in particular? It doesn’t matter,
really. The whole subject is rather subjective anyway, so your request for
facts is non-applicable.
And this leads me to the point I was making; the war in Iraq is a PR war in the
US. It’s all about swaying public opinion and posturing for the ‘08 elections.

shock, but posting in a public forum invites a response from anyone who reads
it, no matter who you reply to.

I disagree. Posting publically invites public readership, but not necessarily
public participation. I think only an invitation insures this.
