Hey all,
(Note the FUT-off-topic-debate).
Im a bit nervous about jumping into this because there are already strong
opinions expressed on both sides by people I respect, but here goes.
I have to admit confusion:
A MOC based on a fictional futuristic fascistic regime is okay, because Keith is
a funny guy and no one actually believes him to be a fascist.
A MOC based on a future expansion of the Soviet Union is okay, because, maybe,
even though Stalin was just as much (or worse) a murderer as others, later
incarnations of the Soviet Union werent as murderous and eventually fell apart.
A MOC based on a Nazi military vehicle is perfectly okay, and people constantly
call for TLC to create WWII-themed sets because, um, I guess just because tanks
are cool (e.g. search Brickshelf for panzer).
A MOC that seems to symbolically call for Palestine to crush Israel is okay
(here), because, well,
I guess thats just political commentary. (Shoot, I cant find the MOC of a
suicide bomber on Brickshelf.
This one is similar,
but not what Im thinking of.)
Of course all sorts of depictions of murder and mayhem are perfectly fine and a
staple of what many of us build.
Things like Block Death are
perfectly fine because, um, torture is funny?
Creations based on concentration camps by Zbigniew Libera are either horrible
obscenities or insightful artistic explorations of evil that were subsequently
displayed in The Jewish Museum in New
York, depending on your point of view.
Depictions of genocides in the Bible are similarly horrible or insightful, again
depending on your point of view.
This new creation is horrible, and calls are out to delete it.
Please explain.

I find those grossly inappropiate. Depictions of genocides in the (...) (19 years ago, 9-Aug-05, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, FTX)
