Remember the govenments tolerances rule:
Measured with a micrometer
Marked with chauk
Cut with an ax

You know, I found that quite amusing at first, but then I got to remembering
stuff, like how when you work with steel, you have to use sticks of soapstone to
make your cut marks if you want to be able to see them easily. And how I got to
participate in a demonstration at a Boy Scout Jamboree where they were showing
how you can light a strike-anywhere match (Ohio Bluetips, I believe) by
splitting it with an axe, both of the hand and full-handle variety (mostly they
had younger kids try it with the hand-axe because they wouldnt have the
physique to safely handle a full-size axe). I was pretty consistent with the
hand-axe, but I only had one good hit with the full-size one. The guy running
the event was able to split them perfectly every time.
