Hmm. In the UK {all} the parties produce manifestos for General Elections;
they can be bought at bigger newsagents for ~£5 (US$8-$10). The elected party is
expected to stick to their manifesto (esp. if there is no change of leader).
When the winning party comes up for re-election, the previous manifesto is
checked to see how well it has been respected. It is not unusual for a manifesto
promise from 20 years ago to be quoted as part of a political debate!
Basically, manifestos are a big part of UK political culture. Tony Blairs 2001
manifesto is online:
