Entertaining, but I only got a little ways in when I hit this.

A.C.: “One can assume the director of the Nigerian Department of Tourism isn’t too pleased. Winning the pageant site had been an uphill battle from the beginning. Some of the more closed-minded Miss World participants had already begun carping about the upcoming stoning of a Nigerian woman, in accordance with Islamic sharia law.”

Dissection: “Also Old Testament law, we might point out. Read your Bible, adulterous women are to be stoned. It’s true, Jesus spoke out against that with “let he who is without sin throw the first stone,” but he was speaking against the written law of the Jews.”

Does anyone still follow old testament law? If so, that’s pretty scary. I thought the problem with sharia law was that it hasn’t been updated. The stoning bit was picked up from the old testament and it stuck around.
