As I recall, the death toll from the destruction of the World Trade Center
came in somewhere under 3,000, so Dubya is responsible for the unprovoked
massacre of a far greater number of innocent civilians than Osama bin Laden.

Incorrect. In fact, the responsibility of those lost Iraqi lives can be
attributed to OBL as well. Consider this recent NYT article by Thomas
Friedman:

|
It requires registration. Can you summarize it?
Either way, since there is no valid, pre-existing link between Iraq and al
Qaida, and since Dubya used that falsified link as one of the justifications for
initiating his war, then al Qaida and bin Laden cannot be used as any
justification for Iraqi casualties of the war. Even if al Qaida has taken over
the entire Iraqi countryside, they have done so (and have been able to do so)
only because of Dubyas choice to start a war. Therefore, the responsibility
ultimately rests on Dubya.

The resistance in Iraq is coming primarily from outside Iraq, not in.
|
But were not talking about the deaths of foreign insurgents--were talking
about the deaths of Iraqi civilians that have resulted from the US invasion and
occupation of Iraq. To that end, the utter failure of coalition forces to stop
insurgent car-bombings is expressly the result and fault of Dubyas
ill-considered, unprovoked, and manufactured war.
|
As Friedman says, it is better to address this threat early outside of US
borders before it reaches us.
|
It is up to Dubya to prove (not merely to imply or suggest or provide evidence
for, but to PROVE) that Iraq posed a threat to the US within US borders.
Everything else in this fabricated war is subordinate to that proof; until Dubya
provides it, then he is guilty of mass murder.
Dave!
