I heard a radio interview with the creators of Iraqbodycount.net, they are a
clearly partisan group, whose research methods are suspect at best. Basically
they look at all news sources for any mention of civilian casualties. They
make no attempt to verify the numbers, nor to ensure that they are not double
or triple counting the same casualties. They are simply morbid hearse
chasers, using the event of accidental collateral damage to further their
cause, truly despicable.

Without commenting directly on www.iraqbodycount.net, I would like to offer
this article
for consideration. Youll either need to subscribe to Salon or watch a brief
promotional ad from a sponser, but it takes less than a minute.
The meat of it is that statistics from morgues in Baghdad and three surrounding
provinces put the death toll at about 5,500, and that doesnt include deaths in
Najaf or Falujah or the occasional random slaughter of wedding parties.
As I recall, the death toll from the destruction of the World Trade Center came
in somewhere under 3,000, so Dubya is responsible for the unprovoked massacre of
a far greater number of innocent civilians than Osama bin Laden.
