Wow , same style of thinking..:-)

Just check out my comments on the first religion debate:

Hey friends, do you ever think about this?..All of the religions has
their
own types of ceremonies (I can't find a better word) and beliefs, which
are
not respected (generally) by the others. So if a person is a mamba of a
given religion, he/she has several (from a handful to several hundred
millions) people sharing his/her beliefs, but much more people who
disregards those given beliefs. This makes virtually any kind of religion
(when you deep into detail, regarding fractions) having much more
disbelievers than its believers. Isn't that funny?  (1)

   (1) Just come to my mind while reading Tom's post about his
"fraction"..:-D

If you really think we condemn other denominations, then I'm going to have
to ask you to find a text somewhere that says that or find a normal human
priest type person to agree with you (televangelists don't count, except • for
Billy Graham).  Paul speaks specifically to allowing for variations in
denominational worship.

WHile in college, I took a philosophy of religion class. The first week of • the
course was religious history.  The remaining 9 weeks of the course • consisted of
nothing more than a priest/rabbi/evangelist/Salvation Army/etc. at each
session speaking to the class, defining his sects beliefs.  The vast • majority
maintainied that only their sect believed the right way, worshipped the • right
way, would go to heaven etc.  My favorite was some guy who said that the • only
instruments permitted in church were the specific instruments mentioned in • the
bible (horn, etc.)  And that those that performed on other instruments not
specifically mentioned in the bible were committing blaspheme.  I was on • the
floor.

But in essence, the vast majority all claimed they were the ONLY true
religion/sect/believers/etc.

That began my trip down the road to atheism.

FYI, the real Eurorail pass to Atheism came from my experiences performing • in
over 100 churches in over 20 years (by degree, I'm an operatic singer).  It
didn't matter what sect, religion, or belief, the bottom line was rake in • the
money.  Money came before belief, before serving the "parishoners", etc.

(...) You misunderstand the purpose of worship. Worship is *not* required nor needed by God, but is the natural expression of thanks by His people for what God has done/is doing/will do. Worship should be joyful. What God requires of us is to love (...) (25 years ago, 31-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
