I was 9 when I bought 'Crime of the Century' -- LP!! (Still have it--I
actually have 2 milk crates full of records and don't own a record player)
I missed the 'Famous Last Words...' concert tour by 5 minutes--I was off
timing and scorekeeping a basketball game at another high school, and my
friend, Paul, had an extra ticket, and he waited at our school until 5
minutes before the bus dropped us off after the game...
The best news is that *today* I just bought 4 tickets (for me and my 3
closest Supertramp fans) for the concert in Toronto on August 29!
And I'm pretty much happy right now!
My friend John and I often get into debates over great groups that make
great songs. So Led Zepp put out 4 songs that I actually really like ;),
Floyd put out lots more songs that I like,(tho they made a song called
'Careful with that Axe, Eugene'), then Journey and Foreigner put out a whack
of songs that I really really liked (and Journey had some of the best album
covers)...
But for me, the best band? Up until and including 'Brother, Where ya
Bound', Supertramp put out one song that I *didn't* like.
So I like them :)
I can't wait!
'Call the man a fool,
Stripped him of his pride.
Everyone was laughing
Up until the day he died...'
(there you go, ROSCO :) )

| (...) [snip] (...) hehe! And I like how they manage to sneak in a bit of Churchill's speech too 8?) But I gotta say, I rank Fleetwood Mac (various incarnations) above Supertramp - there's just more of their songs that I like! (And I got to see MF + (...)
