???!!  I never said anything about burning, literary or no.  What I said was that there
are people who would *choose* to not be with God (my definition of Heaven) because they
*hate* the light and love the darkness.  It is *their* choice, not God's will.  They
could be with God if they wanted to, but because of their pride, arrogance, love of
darkness, etc, *THEY* choose not to-- and God, the giver of free will, honors their
decision.

So you're saying that you believe that people will literally burn for
all eternity in Hell?  That God, in his infinite wisdom, knowledge,
love, and compassion, could actually allow that to happen?  Why?  What
possible point could there be for something like that?

And please don't throw the "ways of God are unknowable to man" crap at
me - I hate that.

The ways of God (while not in detail) ARE known to us-- that is why Jesus came, to
teach us.

If I understand things correctly about the endtimes and all that, once
people actually end up in Hell, along with Satan and Damien, there
won't be anymore world like this where people are born, have free
will, live mortal lives, etc.  It'll be one gigantic love-in where we
all sit around happy that we're in the kingdom of God.

This is not a correct understanding of the end times.  No one knows, so while it might
be fun to speculate, that's all it is-- speculation.  Remember, we're talking about
infinite things, concepts, etc, which a finite understanding (ours) can't grasp.

At that point, what possible purpose, other than satisfying a
God-sized ego or being able, FOR ALL ETERNITY, to say, "nyah, nyah, I
told you I'd win and you picked the losing side" would there be for
Hell?

God may not be the one making the damning decisions, but he sure as
heck would be the warden of the ultimate torture chamber/prison.

Again, I define Hell as "separation from God"  The torture or whatever you want to call
it is existing apart from God, WHICH IS SELF-IMPOSED.
