Don't buy it, but I know a lot of people who do.

Think of it this way, Mike.  God isn't the one doing the damning.  There are people
who hate the light and love darkness.  Even faced with God in His glory, *they
choose* the darkness, because of their stubborn pride and selfishness.  I find this
idea of Hell *very* believable-- got it from CS Lewis in The Great Divorce.

So you're saying that you believe that people will literally burn for
all eternity in Hell?  That God, in his infinite wisdom, knowledge,
love, and compassion, could actually allow that to happen?  Why?  What
possible point could there be for something like that?

And please don't throw the "ways of God are unknowable to man" crap at
me - I hate that.

If I understand things correctly about the endtimes and all that, once
people actually end up in Hell, along with Satan and Damien, there
won't be anymore world like this where people are born, have free
will, live mortal lives, etc.  It'll be one gigantic love-in where we
all sit around happy that we're in the kingdom of God.

At that point, what possible purpose, other than satisfying a
God-sized ego or being able, FOR ALL ETERNITY, to say, "nyah, nyah, I
told you I'd win and you picked the losing side" would there be for
Hell?

God may not be the one making the damning decisions, but he sure as
heck would be the warden of the ultimate torture chamber/prison.
