I think there's
a real problem when Tim's post gets 8 spotlights, and an awesome MOC has
a hard time getting 4.

People who spotlight messages should think carefully about the type of posts
they think are appropriate for the LUGNET shop window: ie "Top Stories" on
www.lugnet.com

Although Tim is well meaning, I really doubt his melodramatics belong there.

Ummmh...Scott...we know already...subject matter should be already closed...
thanks...don't open another can of worms...

Benjamin,
All I am doing is stating my view. You may/may not like my view, but I'm
sure you will agree that I'm entitled to it. I suppose the alternative would
be for admins to highlight threads as "closed"?

the argument)

(Dr. Scott) Arhur,

Scott will do.

I don't think anybody here is trying to prevent you from
stating your view.

Good.

My point was that your view was already expressed at
least twice already, by different views.  To me

To you. Perhaps, even to me.

the issue was largely dead,
and you are just trying to stir up the pot like you always do...

Perhaps we can talk about that once you demonstrate how you give others a
hard time when they post a message in a dead thread? Or perhaps you were
stirring the pot? What am I to think?

and Suzanne did agree with Bram, who had the best way of saying that the
users should return to building, and less on politicing.

I have a great deal of respect for both Suz and Bram, but neither casts
words in stone.

Case in point: http://news.lugnet.com/people/?n=3012

So in a large way I am being hypocrytical if I agree to that point,

Indeed.

but
spend enough time building and creating, (aquiring and to some extent
managing my bricklink shop), and if you want to really delve into my time on
Lugnet, helping others with some of their issues and concerns)

Am I guilty of compounding the issue from time to time? Yes.  Have I made
mistakes on lugnet? Yes.  Have I ruffled a few feathers, here and there?
Yes.

Indeed.

Have I done my share of politicing? Yes.  However, if you look at the
broader issues, is I think I contribute a positive effect to the overall
good of the Lego Community.

Who is doubting that?

Have you inspected Arthur’s Seat yet?
