To all (Larry & Chris and others);

Ugh. Let me see if I can clear up what appears to be people's confusion about
me.

Maybe I associate most liberals to be on the Democratic side rather than the
Republican side. I despise everything liberalism is and what it stands for. I am
and always will be a moral, and economic conservative. That is what I meant.

It's unfortunate that the labels have become so skewed. I am a liberal
because I believe in liberty. I am not a conservative because I think
the present system needs to be changed. Yet if I claim to be liberal it
means I support income transfer!

In today's terms, yes. I think the system needs to be changed, and I don't
support income transfer.

No.

I am a Jeffersonian Liberal.

I would say I am too. Liberalism (In what I think of today) is mostly a leftist
mentality, of bigger government, etc. True liberalism, on the other hand, is of
liberty, is what I support. Most of today's definition is kind of quirky.

If you must apply the one dimensional political spectrum (1) the closest
you can come to pigeonholing the LP is to say that we are economically
conservative and socially liberal.

I don't try to pigeon hole everything, but in terms of today's political
definition, I think being economically conservative and liberal in terms of
social values is fine by me. By today's standards and terms, liberal is the
status quo and true conservatism wants to change things. I like most things
about the LP party. But I don't think there is enough wanting by most of the
public to change the system, which is heavily socialism today. I am not in any
way disagreeing with Larry or Chris on this. I have almost said amen to all the
posts lately about health care and the like. maybe I am not making myself clear,
I don't know.

1 - which I reject, there is more than one dimension involved... see the
World's Smallest Political Quiz at the http://www.lp.org site, which is
admittedly a propaganda tool.

I will try this in a minute.

Scott Sanburn

(P.S. I am sorry if I misrepresented anything, this is what the definitions I
learned in today's arena, which is not what some people see)
