Well, let's rephrase the question, since you seem to be invoking the "chances
are he'll never use the gun at all" escape clause.
Assuming the gun is at some point fired (other than for hunting or target
practice) who is statistically the most likely recipient of the bullet? That,
I think, is the essence of Scott's question (but please correct me, Scott, if
I'm incorrect.)
