Can you be more specific? If passengers didn't want to travel by air there
would be no problem, would there? There'd be no airlines! Why shouldn't
airlines shoulder the whole cost? (note that in a free market there is no
difference between "airlines" and "their passengers" as costs are passed on
as part of the cost of goods)
Unless you are making the argument that it's somehow good for everyone (good
to the point of supporting wealth transfer involuntarily) that airlines
exist and that they need to be subsidised because they can't carry their own
weight.
I disagree, of course.
