How does it fit with earlier claims that bin Laden has been one of "our
bastards" in the Soviet-Afghanistan war? Can he have acted from Sudan, or
shouldn't this rather indicate he went to Afghanistan earlier than 1996?

| (...) No, it's pretty clear that he was IN Afghanistan, then left, then went back. This fits the known timeline of his movements. Doesn't mean it's true, of course (23 years ago, 5-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
