I was listening to the radio tonight and heard Joe Stowell, president of
Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, speaking about a young man who was a
college classmate of his daughter and son-in-law. His name was Todd Beamer,
he was one of the passengers killed on the flight that crashed in
Pennsylvania. Actually he was more than that - he was one of four men who
rushed the terrorists before the plane crashed. After the terrorists made
themselves known, the four men knew that it was no ordinary hijacking. They
realized that if they didn't act they would die anyway, so they decided to
storm the hijackers holding seat cushions in front of themselves for
protection. After trying to call his wife, Todd called the GTE Airphone
operator to give final farewells to his family - at the end of the call the
operator heard Todd say, "Are you ready? Let's roll." Screams were heard and
a commotion ensued - 10 minutes later the plane had crashed.

Todd's wife Lisa was on "Larry King Live" last night (Tuesday). Here's a
link to the transcript:

The interview with his wife is near the end.

According to his wife one of the hijackers had a bomb around his waist -
that's the first I've heard of that.

Rumours still persist that the fourth plane might have been shot down
This from todays Independent, a quality UK broadsheet.
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/story.jsp?story=95051

According to the report, the US government admitted they had ordered fighters to shoot down the hijacked plans and were
just 8 minutes from shooting down the 2nd plane to hit the WTC.
Given that the 4th plane crashed over 1 hour later, they clearly had plenty of time to intercept it if they wished.

lawrence

(...) Hm... to a certain extent, this is interesting, but academic... A link not too far away from ones posted here(1), analysing Bush compared to Churchill talked about Churchills brutal honesty, but then discussed how Churchill did not feel the (...)
