You also have to consider that the only contact Joe Sixpack has with
arab peoples in general is what he sees in movies or on the evening
news. J.S. usually isn't interested in learning more about these people,
because that might interfere with his regular viewing of the MLB
playoffs.
Kind of makes you wonder what kind of impression of Americans has been
doled out to the people who were dancing in the street after the
crashes. My dad was in a MASH unit during Desert Storm, and his unit was
in charge of taking care of Iraqi POWs. He said when they first came in,
they begged the American soldiers not to eat them.
