Doesn't it disturb you that a guy with a knife killing eight Japanese
schoolchildren makes worldwide news, and yet mass murders in the US often
barely get a mention beyond local news? Doesn't that tell you something about
this country? I would much rather have a horrific event such as that be a
major news story because it is rare than it not get any coverage because it is
common. And think how much worse that incident in Japan would have been if the
guy had had a handgun!
