I strongly agree about this point of view. I can see that this kind of
privilege to women will reduce their employment, which is the real
discrimination. I know this will be the situation in my country at
least.
You may also introduce other regulations to avoid this bad effects (i.e.
employers avoiding to hire women) such as regulation for making
compulsory to hire women that a given percentage of total employees must
be women. But I'm sure this would produce much more bad effects, and
this is also another form of discrimination.
I don't have any personal problems with this idea, but I just wanted to
express which would be the case in our "nice and pretty" real world,
most probably.
