So I've been wondering for a couple months why the state doesn't lift the dumb
socialist power price caps and allow the market to do its thing.  Why don't you
folks just let the problem fix itself?  And really, what do you expect Governor
Davis to do when the legislature won't play ball.  This seems clearly a case of
being their fault, and not his.

What?  Can you imagine the screams of protest as the citizens of California had
to pay the *actual* costs for both their energy and short-sitedness?  No
politician could endure the horror of enraged voters!

Steve

You aren't kidding, at any sign of price increases our idiot govenor makes a
big stink and forces the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) to back down.
Everytime they hold a meeting a bunch of morons show up to protest
increasing prices. We haven't had price increases in over three years.  Keep
in mind, inspite of a few intelligent people, California is largely a
liberal state. We now see what happens when a largely liberal state
completely turns control over to a buch of nutty environmentalists. We can't
even use the powerplants we have to full capacity, for fear of air
pollution. Well forgive me if I suggest that we have bigger problems than a
little more pollution.
