900-some pieces.  I didn't check the price; I'd guess around $30.

At my TRU it's $39.99, and it's 985 pieces including a good number of grey
2x4 bricks, grey 1x8 bricks, 50 grey 2x2 tiles, about 25 grey 2x1 inverse
slopes, and a bunch of chrome elements.  I bought one last night and I'm
almost completely delighted with it.  My only small complaint is that the
kit calls for 2 instruction books, and I got two copies of book one and no
copies of book two.  I've got a half-finished Mustang on my desk waiting for
me to call MegaBloks customer service!  Oh well.  A single packaging error
does not a bad model make!

It's depressing that I've said "Wow" to myself several times recently, in the
construction toy aisle, over something that wasn't a Lego product.

As far as I'm concerned, the best LEGO set released within the last year
is this MegaBloks kit.  Aside from the propeller assembly, the canopy, and a
pair of click-joint-and-socket pieces, there are almost no specialized parts
in the set; everything is made with conventional bricks and plates.  Bravo
to MegaBloks for demonstrating what we were once able to take for granted
with LEGO.  Good models can be built out of regular parts!

     Dave!

Any possiblity of scanning the box or instructions for a picture? I am really currious about this one. -Mike Petrucelli (23 years ago, 19-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
