Well, here is an other example of good marketing execution by Mega Bloks...  And
a bad one by LEGO, in my view.

November 13th, 2004, a new toy store opened in Quebec City :

They have many specialised sections, one of them about construction toys.  Here
is an approximation of floor allocation : 33% to Playmobile, 33% to Mega Bloks,
17% to LEGO (including a PAB), 17% to others.

LEGO are in a corner, on a shelf.  Mega Bloks are everywhere, including a very
nice and big display see for yourself :

(...) Doesn't this have more to do with MegaBloks being a hometown company than a marketing failure on the part of TLC? I wouldn't expect a big MegaBloks display in a toy store in Billund. Marc Nelson Jr. (20 years ago, 15-Nov-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
