  Re: Brick Century Military

(...) I am not familiar with this brand... could you set me up with a link to check this stuff out. I am currently trying to get a hold of some more Oxford military sets. I have several from my time in Korea. Having recently taken them out and (...) (20 years ago, 9-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Brick Century Military

I almost hate to give up my source, but I've recently been able to purchase MISB sets of Brick's Century Miltary series. This is an overseas eBay source, but I have been able to get additional sets added to my eBay order. I felt that this way I (...) (20 years ago, 9-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Question about quality of Best Lock...

(...) Now that you mention it, I seem to recall a weird residue or film on the bricks in sets I bought in 1999, but I don't think it colored my hands in any noticeable way. Maybe rather than mold, the substance was mold-release? (...) I've found (...) (20 years ago, 6-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Question about quality of Best Lock...

(...) I'd agree with Dave! If you hate Tyco and MegaBloks, you'll hate Best-Lock even more (And again, I also have to admit I've always been impressed with the quality of the limited amount of Tyco Super-Blocks that I've been exposed to). One thing (...) (20 years ago, 6-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Question about quality of Best Lock...

My comments are all gaming related so I XFUT lugnet.gaming (...) A key part of ESPG is that all minifigs have to be attached to the ship (well they technically don't have to but they fall off easily if they are not, and that means they are "in the (...)   Re: Question about quality of Best Lock...

(...) I have the $20 Best-Lock pirate ship (the regular, not skeletal one) sitting on a shelf. The Short Review: Ain't as good as LEGO. The figs can be tossed. The cannon mountings are excreble. The bowsprit is wobbley. The half-height bricks make (...) (20 years ago, 6-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Question about quality of Best Lock...

(...) I'm surprised that you classify Tyco as terrible, since many people regard it as the best of the clone brands. In my view, Oxford, BTR, Qubo, Byggis, and Tyco are all of excellent quality, on par with The Canonical Brand. (...) "Good" is a (...) (20 years ago, 6-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Question about quality of Best Lock...

I am in the position to pick up a full pirate ship with a lot of pieces for only $20. But, it is a Best Lock brand set, and I am very wary of incorporating an unknown clone brand in with my Legos. I know for a fact that BTR and Oxford are absolutely (...) (20 years ago, 6-Oct-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  MEGABLOKS Pirates? Well, sort of...

  Millionaire Playboy reviews Minimates C3

(URL) This page> links to three reviews, as well as to other stuff that I didn't read. I'm torn. Millionaire Plaboy seems to love love love these C3 sets, and I admit that the reviews are cleverly written and contain a lot of detail. Unfortunately, (...)   Re: MB Lions Kingdom sticker sheet

(...) If you're still in the market, then here's an auction that appears to include the decal sheet: (URL) my auction, I won't be bidding, and I don't know the seller. Hope this helps! Dave! (20 years ago, 27-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Nano New York and Toronto Contest

Thought I'd pass this along as I found the models interesting - Mega Bloks is having a guess the number of nano bricks contest at their site: New York (2 URLs) Toronto (4 URLs) Click on the images for a larger view. Mark (20 years ago, 25-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Re: Nano System Metrics

(...) At the very least using tiles one could brace an nano-scale construct in a standard-scale construct. That would allow for some really interesting detailed interal componets. I am far more interested in this line now that I know this. Thanks (...) (20 years ago, 22-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Re: Help needed: my custom beards

Hi Isaac, I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my question! (...) Well, at the risk of being "one of those people", I'll start by saying there are lots of injection molding houses that will bid on work online (assuming you had CAD files of (...)   Re: Help needed: my custom beards

(...) Hi Darrell, I suppose you already know that the cost of a metallic mould can vary depending on the complexity of the shape of the objects, but at the very least it'll still put you back by a few thousands US$, right? Well, anyway, I won't tell (...) (20 years ago, 19-Sep-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.parts.custom, lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

Re: Help needed: my custom beards
