$80, 2005 pieces, mostly white and black.  Has a "TRU exclusive" logo on the
front.  Random comments:

Huge selection of white and black parts.  1 bag each color of 2x4 bricks.  1
bag of 1x8 white bricks.  1 bag of mostly white 2x4 plates.  Another of white
2x12 plates.  Several half-height 4x16 and 8x16 black plates.  Tons of other
miscellaneous bricks and plates.  New (large) custom wing pieces in black.
Burp-ish payload door pieces, though not bad looking.  Custom molded 2-part
manipulator arm.  2-part burpish gray payload unit.  Burp black engine nozzles.

Large burp-ish cockpit (internal only -- nose exterior is all bricks/plates)
which is an electronics units (sound effects).  Has several wires hanging off
it, going to simple touch-switches that appear to have an interactive function
(not sure, but I think this in the vein of push a sound effects button in the
cockpit, then get a series of follow-on sounds as you open things up and move
around some parts [e.g. deploying a satellite]).

Several interesting copper-colored vac-metal bits (1x2 plates and 1x1 round
plates).  Four dull astronauts: like classic "army men" in their style and
1-piece construction, and two are molded into their chairs.  I assume these are
like the figures in the large sub, which I don't have.  This is the only real
disappointment so far -- they're about as tall as mini-figs, too bad we didn't
get some space-suited mini-figs instead.

Large instruction book, probably 11x17.  Roughly 8x9 sheet of stickers.

Overall: pretty damn sweet, can't wait to build it.  I don't care if Lego and
MB's market's "don't overlap"
(http://news.lugnet.com/off-topic/clone-brands/?n=1465), just so long as
someone keeps making cool models like this one for me to buy.

(ob-obsequiousness: much of TLC's Jan. 2003 *does* look good...)

[snip] (...) [snip] Are you sure they are half height and not 2/3 height. I noticed that the new destroyer and fighter use 2/3 height plates which were half height in previous sets. This is a very good improvement in my opinion. [snip] (...) [snip] (...) (22 years ago, 13-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) Mmmmmm. Might finally have a source for the pieces necessary to embark upon a minifig scale USS Enterprise NCC 1701. Thought it might happen when there was talk of a MB White House. Not sure about MB's longer term colour stability though, (...) (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) How are the cargo bay doors attached? And could you possibly post a scan of one of the door elements? Thanks for the info--none of my local TRU's have it yet. Did you get yours via Amazon or directly from a store? Dave! (22 years ago, 15-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
