I *think* (my own conjecture here) that the tubs and buckets, while profitable,
were not at the same profit level as something like a LoM set. Sometime a while
back, there was a thread here where someone postulated that the tubs and buckets
were 'loss leaders', but that was dispelled quickly (from some source at LD)
that the tubs and buckets "were profitable". I suspect that the real issue here
might be 'how profitable'. Also note, that while the 3033 tub has vanished and
replaced by the Creator tub, the Duplo 3099 tub is still around is great supply.
I think it may be a profit level and shelf space issue.
Since virtually every store in the US has depleted its stock of 3033's, it sure
would be nice if S@H had them available (even at a $30 price point).
