I can't make out what is going on with this "auction":

On the surface, there is 1 Silver Champion being auctioned. The item title
suggests this is a "But it now" auction, and the text appears to suggest
that there are multiple items and the seller will try to collect the money
from *all* bidders using paypal at a fixed price of $124.99 but the current
bid price is $127.49. The seller also has two other auctions of Silver
Champions with different payment arrangements.

He's selling sets he hasn't yet bought from Walmart.com and having them shipped
(by Walmart) to the buyer's address - that's why he's not waiting for the
auction to end. He's afraid that the Walmart stock will run out.  He's also
avoiding the auction fees by only listing one.

I'd call this some sort of fraud - at least to EBay - someone should list a new
auction which ends right before his - identical item - with a bid price of
$0.01 (for the information) which points people to Walmart and mentions his
auction - a cheap way to fix this guy.

Yeah, it seems likely he's trying to scam eBay.  However, I believe your
suggestion is specifically prohibited by the rules of eBay, so look before
you leap.  It would be better to bring this auction to the attention of eBay
directly.
