Okay, so maybe FOTW is an understatement?? :]
In the past I'd lamented about how Canada doesn't have a lot of deep discount
sales like in the US. Well, it seems that we do get them eventually, it just
takes a while. Zellers has a 50% off dicontinued toys sale running, plus had
an additional 10% off early bird sale Saturday morning. I hit 7 Zellers
stores in southwestern Ontario and filled by my trunk and the back seat of my
car.
Most of what I got were the largest sets from Space Port, Ninja, Adventurers
Egypt, etc. But the best find was the only store with 4561s having an entire
top shelf full of them. The regular price was $150 (US$102), on discontinued
clearance for $100 (US$68), and then after the 50% off became $50 (US$34).
Add taxes and they came to $58 (US$39) each. I didn't get to that store until
the early bird sale was over, so I missed the additional 10% off.
Wow! :]
To head off the massive pile of inquiries, yes, I will be selling a lot of
them. But it'll be a while because I'm very busy at work. Also, as I've
never sold this stuff before, it'll take me a bit to figure out what I'm going
to do. I figure I'll try auctions first (ebaY, BrickBay, whatever) and if
that gets to be too much work I'll just do straight sales. More when I know
more.
And wow!! :]
