After I heard about the rumor that S@H will start charging shipping, I decided
to go right for the source, I called S@H. And boy, are there some changes on
the way:
1) S@H will charge a shipping fee on all sets. The fee will be like the
Outlets, a flat rate up to a certain amount. She hinted that the amounts would
be up to $20, then up to $50, then up to $100. Not sure on the amounts though.
This will take effect for the Summer catalog due out at the end of this month.
2) S@H will have an internet presence by the end of the summer. You will be
able to order over the internet, and she said that this plan was one of the
reasons why they decided to change the shipping charges.
3) S@H will officially change it's name to LEGO Direct when they go on the
internet at the end of the summer. Does this mean that the S@H department will
merge with the LEGO Direct department to create one giant internet LEGO
superstore??
I am not sure whether to think this is good or bad....

| (...) All I can say is the prices better drop on the sets or why would anyone buy from them? Their prices already _include_ 10% extra right now, presumably for shipping. If they drop to standard retail price I can see people still buying sets from (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

I too wondered about the potential conflicts of giving two different services the same (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
