No one else posted this, but Kmart is having a BOGO 50%. Not a lot of sets
for sale, but I did get a 2 of the new Fire Trucks 7239 and likewise with the
Fire Chief 7241. They had a dozen or so 7238s, but really how many does a
person need. I don’t think the part value is there for 7238.

Note: the Kmart BOGO sale is on regular priced items only, not clearance
items. But I got a cartload of 4696 bonus buckets at $7 clearance. My Kmart
has the new TIE and Vulture Droid too. (Good year for vultures.)

Your Kmart knew what they were doing. Mine let me have their last spring
cleaning bucket for $3.50. Granted, it was after the cashier called half the
store for help. It was correct in their system, but I made her check the ad
(which was usefully vague) and eventually her supervisor used the Golden Cashier
Key to override the system and give me that sweet three dollar discount on the
clearance item. It took ten minutes, and the guy behind me in line was annoyed.
Truly, it was a good day.
As for the Lego aisle itself, as usual, it looked ransacked as usual. There were
a couple of the new Star Wars sets sitting listlessly on the shelves. One of the
TIE Fighters had its light-up Darth Vader cut out of the box window and stolen,
which reminded me of the time my brother bought
6975 from that same store only to exchange it
an hour later because he noticed the alien commander was also cut out from the
box window and stolen. My money’s on it being the same kid.
